A memorial to a great president, very busy place, espacialy at night. But it is beautiful to look at afar, lit up at night. I read the Gettysburg Adress aloud to to my son, pretty powerful to here those words echo this place. Be sure to stand where Martin Luther King stood when he spoke "I Have Dream".

Excellent site. Sharing with fellow Americans their appreciation for his impact on our Nation. One of the most important memorials in D.C.

Loved this memorial! Read Lincoln's words on both sides of him! Go outside & face the Washington Monument & look down. You will see "I Have a Dream" by MLK engraved & you can stand right where MLK stood to deliver that famous speech!!

Can only describe the Lincoln Memorial as awe inspiring when you walk in and are struck by the scale of the statue inside. Reading the Gettysburg address inscribed on the walls along with his strong views on slavery and freedom and fighting for what is right really made this non American develop a deep sense of respect for the man.... Very crowded even though it was mid-week on Wednesday. I didn't get as close to the statue as I wanted due to the crowds. Amazing sculpture.

If you want to get the vibe of our history, the Lincoln Memorial is a must. The magnitude of the memorial imparts the magnitude of Lincoln's presidency. A must see at night as well!

The monument is situated at the west end of the national mall. The night visit is more appropriate because of the lighting. Notice two things: the name of the objects that the founding father supports his hands is called fasce and is of Etruscan origin; Second and most importantly the nearest subway station is located after the Arlington Memorial Bridge,... Taking our 13 year old for the first time for an evening tour and seeing the expression of respect was a moment I'll always remember.

The Lincoln memorial is my all time favorite memorial in DC. It has a special air to it and it is truly awe inspiring to stand in front of the giant statue of Lincoln. The steps at the top of the memorial also offer a great view of the national mall starting with the Washington Memorial behind the reflecting pool.
