It is a grand and beautiful monument. I am not an American but I got emotional when I visited. You walk up a lot of stairs and there is the statue of Abraham Lincoln. And around him is words. Huge and awesome. Not a lot of other things to do. It wander around it. But when you look down the... More

We took the big bus day tour and this was our 5th or 6th stop on the red loop. This place is truly spectacular and truly worth a visit. If you are a history buff this place is for you. Would highly recommend this to everyone. This place acquaints you with the great american history and the greatest abraham lincoln.

This is a very iconic monument with amazing views of Washington. You can stand where MLK made his famous speech. It's also amazing to see lit up at night.

HIs statue is only part of the allure of this 'monumental' (pun intended) attraction. To read his words within the memorial and to go out and stand in the same spot that MLK gave his "I have a Dream" speech and down below that was where Forest Gump was filmed and he gave his speech and Jenny ran across the... As many times as we have been to DC, we always make time to visit the Lincoln Memorial. Our 7 year old had fun climbing the stairs and the view sitting on the steps just can't be beat.

I'm not American but I was honoured to visit and see the monument and experience the presence of the place. Incredible piece of work to honour a great man. Not too busy when we were there, but in the height of the summer probably mobbed. Restrooms downstairs with visitor centre. Shop as well for momentos. The fire back towards the... More

I always love checking out the Lincoln Memorial. On this visit, it was interesting to see quotes from his various speeches showing how Lincoln's view on freeing the slaves had evolved from not freeing them to freeing them.
