Second Beach was beautiful. A much prettier beach than First Beach. The views of the ocean are breathtaking. The trail to the beach is about 3/4 of a mile, pretty easy to navigate, but is a steep decline as you get closer to the beach. The trail was easy for our toddler to do, so it wasn't too much of... It was our first time camping at the beaches in the Olympic peninsula & we chose Second Beach. It seemed pretty (from pictures) plus the trail to the beach is an easy 0.7 mile walk down a hill. We stopped by the wilderness information center in Port Angeles to obtain a permit (required for camping anywhere along the coast). We... More

Second Beach is incredible. It is best to time your visit to about an hour before low tide so that you have close access to the tidal pools and some of the sea stacks. The scenery is truly amazing and the photo opportunities are unlimited. There is a small parking lot near the trailhead as well as some overflow parking.... More

South of Forks, take Washington Route 110 west (right) toward the sea. Several miles down the road, you will see railheads for both Second and Third Beaches. These are the iconic beaches surrounded by forest, studded by driftwood, and guarded by many a jutting sea stack, often with trees atop. Unforgettable. Be aware of the dangers of tide, storm and... A refreshing hike through the forest, down several steps and then … wow! A breathtaking beach appears full of sea stacks, a myriad of driftwood and bountiful sea life. Not at all what we imagined and we were all in awe of this spectacular beach. Plan to spend hours, some time on the hike to and from but most of... More

I've gone to many, many NPs over the years and the tendency for my breath to be taken away has waned over the years but this did it, hands down. I didn't want to leave!!! Just down right wild and beautiful!!! Will be coming back!!!

First of all we are from Florida so beach is not supposed to be an exciting topic for us but the beaches in Olympic Park are! They are different from the east coast, with giant rocks in the water and dead trees in the beach. The view is spectacular. Our favorite was the tide pool. We went a little after... More

I was so excited to finally hike this trail. I had heard wonderful things and wanted to on an earlier trip but didn't get to. Well it was SO worth the wait. An enchanting and other worldly trail through the lush forest that ended on an amazingly beautiful beach. One of the highlights for me on this gorgeous coast was... More

The trail head for Second Beach (they sure were creative with their beach names up in this area) is 1 mile SE of La Push on RT 110. It’s well marked and there is a parking area that many times gets filled up. The trail to the beach is about a half mile long and except for the very end,... More

Unique View. To get to the beach you have to hike an easy trail (1.1 mile) that start from the parking lot GPS coordinates 47.898077°, -124.623705°. The trail is in typical rain forest the end of the trail slopes down to the beach. The beach is a sand beach with many boles and the uniqueness are rocks that grows from... More
