We visited in August. The battlefield itself is very relaxed. It has many charms. Do not go to this site expecting everything to be all monuments and every space to be covered with descriptions of the battle. There are descriptions in a few places and...More

The battle of Chancellorsville was one of the most intriguing in Civil War history, and a subject of great interest. My most memorable experience of the battlefield was walking the four mile loop trail through the woods where Stonewall Jackson rode with his troops. There...More

Chancellorsville is regarded as one of Confederate General Robert E. Lee's greatest military victory but with the wounding and death of General Thomas "Stonewall' Jackson, one of his greatest losses. Chancellorsville occurred in May 1863, the first battle of the 1863 campaign for the eastern...More

The tour can take a day if you stop at all the stops. Starting at the visitors center where you can stand on the spot where General 'Stonewall' Jackson was shot by his own men, you follow the road around to the house where General...More

Worth a visit if you are into history or the Civil War. This is where Stonewall Jackson took on friendly fire and was mortally wounded. There is a nice visitor center with a nice selection of related exhibits

This place may not be on your list, but it should be, and it is not because it was the place where Stonewall Jackson was accidentally shot. It was a place that help pace the war.

Great information center and starting point for the driving tour of the battlefield. Check the movie and talk to the rangers.

We are Civil War history buffs and enjoy the battlefields and museums. Unfortunately this day, a Northeaster was blowing and knocking down trees, etc. The Museum was closed, but we were able to walk around the Visitor Center and see the place where Stonewall Jackson...More
