Once you get into Rockville, driving on highway 9, begin looking for a small sign telling you where to turn. You will turn south. If you get through town, turn around and look again. I THINK it is across from a produce stand. Drive across the old and historical bridge and follow the road to the right. It will become... More

Do not expect to spend a long time here, but it is definitely worth a visit. It is a visit on your own sort of ghost town at the end of a gravel road just outside Zions National Park. It's history us quite interesting, and if you like frontier towns with a history, Grafton is worth visiting. Do not miss... More

We stopped here on the way driving from Zion to Las Vegas. Took no more than 15 min off the main road to reach. Although you pass the turn off for the cemetery first, we opted to visit the little settlement first. Much refurbishment has been done and currently continues. The house at the end (past the schoolhouse) was open... More

It is a short drive off the beaten path, self-guided tour of Grafton. I enjoy old buildings and did enjoy this as a short side trip. Next to the site, there are cows grazing in the fields. It was a nice change from the many gift shops of Springdale.

This isn't strictly speaking a real ghost town as there are a few obviously inhabited buildings in the area and I saw plenty of livestock in the area (turkeys and cows). There are only a few of the original buildings standing (most were pulled down and scavenged when the inhabitants decided to abandon the town). Descendants of the original settlers... More

In my Internet search for one room schools, I found the Grafton School which is located in the abandoned town of Grafton (about three miles from Rockville). I was happy to discover both a school and a ghost town in one location. In Rockville, we turned onto Bridge Street (saw a sign for Grafton) and crossed the historic Rockville Bridge.... More

My husband and I enjoyed this detour from our Vegas to Zion drive. Look closely in Rockville for the sign on the right that says Grafton. We almost didn't see it. You'll take a long and winding road to the little town. It is a dirt road, but we drove it in our small SUV rental with no problem. (I... More

I was eager to see any ghost town in our roadtrip and when we left Zion we had some time so we detoured to Grafton. The road is in bad condition, but it is not long. The town itself is quite small (some 3-4 houses) and little can be seen inside them, but it gives you an idea of how... More

The town is not well marked as to where to turn in Rockville. It is a long trip down a bumpy dirt road! Not worth the trip. Not much to see. Look at the pictures other people posted.

Our kid were fascinated to read about the lives of early pioneers seeing the graves of those killed in "Indian attacks" amongst other things. You may remember one of the buildings from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Close to Springdale and well worth the trip.
