There are many roads that are not advertised that are well worth taking for scenery or leaf viewing. Beautiful time of the year is mid Oct. Look at the Parson's Branch Road for an out of the way trip.

Breathtaking views. Our family really enjoyed a day trip to this park. We took the short hike to Benton Falls. Mostly easy, but the surface of the trail was just slightly uneven so probably not suitable for the elderly of those who are really young. It was very nice to be in a natural setting away from the distractions of... More

Nice National Forest - worth the drive to Bald River Falls - take your bathing suit because it would be beautiful to swim there if it's warm.

The Cherokee National Forest is always a great place to visit. We live very close and visit it several times a year. There's bass fishing, trout fishing, water skiing, swimming, backpacking, tent camping, RV camping, whitewater canoeing & rafting, several short to long hikes for all skill levels, majestic views--al in a family atmosphere. You can always find something to... More

Our friends brought us here to experience the beautiful forest. We took some great pictures of the area all the way up to and including the Ocoee and Toccoa Rivers. It was so relaxing. My husband and I have traveled through Georgia many, many times over the years but have never stopped to enjoy nature here. We will definitely be... More

Come when there is no moon or clouds, and the Milky Way is about as bright as you'll see it east of the Mississippi River. Also, around once every couple of months, the Smoky Mountain Astronomical Society meets near the top of the Cherohala Skyway, which is only about a 15 minute drive from the Indian Boundary Campground.

How can one rate a National Forest. It is so vast. Our experience has been mostly along the Ocoee river which is a gift from God. We have also hiked many miles of the trails and viewed numerous water falls. It will take a lifetime to see it all but so far everything we have seen is wroth the lifetime.

So wonderful that our government has preserved this wilderness so that we can enjoy it for generations to come. It heals your soul to get away from the stresses of your daily life to commune with nature. I need granite, water, and elevation to reset my system. Please leave it as nice or better than you found it!
