This is a gorgeous hike, really picturesque in so many places. My husband and I brought our dog and made it to the hut in about an hour and forty minutes, and we're kind of average-paced, experienced hikers. The trail is well-maintained and you never feel like you're too closed in. Very easy walk in most places, some areas of... More

The parking fee is 3$ for a day. The trails are extremely well maintained and quite easy to hike through. (Beware my fellow clumsy hikers who tend to trip a lot! Beware of the roots and rocks sticking out!) Around 20 minutes into the woods, you can easily access the stream, which is nice if ever you start getting too... More

Zealand Trail is, by comparison, one of the easiest and most colorful trails in New Hampshire. Gentle hike up tree-root exposed trail past several scenic marshes and ponds. Zeland Falls is picture perfect -- best photographed from rocks 50 yards downstream. Strongly recommend the 1/4 mile boulder scramble up to the ATC Zealand Hut. The hut is cozy and welcoming.....AND... More

We thoroughly enjoy the entire Appalachian Mountain Club trail hut experience. Each Hut is unique in its own way but to Kathleen & I the Zealand Hut and Falls area is the cream of the crop. A very gradual, highly scenic and well maintained 2.8 mile path takes you from the parking area off of NH Route 302 up to... More

Fun and beautiful way to spend an afternoon or morning. This trail isn't just user friendly for families, it's a nice hike for couples or friends wanting to spend a little time doing 2.6, The roots along the some of the pathways are very cool. We did go as a family, but it's a pretty hike that isn't strenuous if... More

We hiked this trail during a recent visit the white mountains. The drive to the trailhead is pretty itself. Be prepared though because the road is eventually unpaved. There is also a day use $3 fee. You can pay at the trailhead. The lot is small so get there early. We arrived and started hiking around noon. The first 1/4... More

This is one of the easiest AMC hikes in the White Mountains. It's about 3 miles in and the last tenth of a mile is quite steep but worth completion. It's an easy 6 mile round trip or you can choose to make a reservation and spend the night at this AMC Hut. An overnight stay includes a bunk, dinner... More

This is a great day hike for families with children who want to get out and experience the beauty of the White Mountains and to check out one of the AMC huts located 2.5 miles into the woods. The trail begins at a parking area on the Zealand Road off route 302. There is a five dollar parking fee. The... More

This is a short an easy hike, ideal for beginners and those in search of a quick half-day hike. The falls are about 2.7 mi from the parking lot, all basically flat other than a little 0.2mi climb at the very end. The view from the top of the falls is spectacular. You can also get snacks, drinks and refill... More

My wife and I were in the area and wanted to explore the woods. We found the Zealand Trail & Campground Area and decided to 'take a hike'. Since the campground access road was still closed, we parked at the large parking area east of the access road on Rt. 302. The walk back up to the access road needs... More
