My son and I hiked Mt Cabot in early spring so most of the time we hiked in snow. The 10 mile round trip took about 5 1/2 hrs (3 1/2 to get up) but the result was fantastic. The walk through the forests included...More

Walk, drive or camp here and you will be awed by the beauty and peace. Fall is maybe the best season with full foliage, but traffic can be really annoying and slow. Slow down, relax and take it all in.

We spent a few days in this area during the fall foliage season. It was very beautiful and there is a lot to do. If you like hiking you could spend even more time here.

The White Mountain National Forest has beautiful colors on display in the fall. You can drive through the area or you can do some hiking. Either way, you'll have gorgeous views.

Fantastic area for hiking and recreation. Trails could be better marked. It needs more restaurants, especially between 2-4 pm. Please do not leave any valuables in the car while parked at trail heads or on the road. Our window was smashed and items stolen while...More

With the economy in New Hampshire in a badxway for a long time, the state created a "Disneyworld" style family destination, complete with a Story Land a water park, and of course the auto road to the summit of Mt. Washington. The Pinkham Notch trails...More

The Cons: If you're expecting regular bathrooms w/ plumbing -- surprise! Out-house-type composting port-a-potty, w/ toilet papers. Watch out, water is not down far enough and could splash up! Bring your flashlight, cause a very small window allows little light. Flies abound during the day....More
