I have been on this road twice now and I love it. The scenery is beautiful and you feel like you're truly in the wilderness. I have read other websites that say that the first (west) portion, up to the quarry, is suitable for passenger cars. I strongly disagree. I have a Jeep Wrangler and there were a few places... More

Bitter Springs is a great place to visit. Just go early. We drove my 4WD Isuzu Rodeo Sport (pretty high clearance) but still managed to scrape those skid plates up pretty good. The first part of the trail before heading through the first wash is easy and very scenic. Those washes are tough though. Once you get through the mountains,... More
