Tettegouche State Park is one of our favorite places to stop at whether we are passing through or doing some winter vacationing on Lake Superior north of Duluth. We enjoy the winter hiking (need Yaktrax) and recently we did a 3 mile round trip hike from the Tettegouche Visitor Center all the way up to High Falls on the High... More

Picked a great day. 35 degrees, some light snow off and on. We took the trail to Hidden Falls, then past and across the cable bridge. Then continued onto Two Step Falls. There were a number of people on the trail up to Hidden Falls lookout. After that, we literally had the place to ourselves! Solitude! It was awesome! The... More

Rented snowshoes from the Tettegouche visitor center for $6/day. No need to reserve rentals. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the visitor center is clean and well-maintained. We drove up to the parking lot by the trailhead near Baptism River Campground. Hiked with our dogs to High Falls and down the west side of Baptism River to Two Step Falls.... More

Very nice and updated visitor center, nice trails and beautiful views. Love the north shore. Be sure to check out the beach in the summer!

The trails and views along the Superior shoreline are amazing! The welcome center has a gift shop, nice clean restrooms, friendly staff, and comfy couches next to a big fireplace. Just outside on the back patio there are plenty of tables and chairs for a picnic. I highly recommend this State park. If going in November don't forget to wear... More

That is the word for our walk on the Shovel Point Trail that begins immediately outside the headquarters. We came up to the North Shore to see colors. Little did we know that this trail had all the color (early October) and incredible views of Lake Superior. The rangers at headquarters were welcoming and very helpful. They described several trails... More

This is a wonderful State park. The general scenery is great, but the trails are really nice and you can choose almost any type of walk --paved, unpaved, rough, or unmaintained. We drove to the west side of the park and hiked to Mt. Baldy on our first morning. It was a nice hike, but the views over the lakes... More

I visited this park with my sisters in October. No teenagers were with us, but that's the closest choice on the list provided when writing this review. It had been a long time since my last visit to this park on the Baptism River. Since I had twisted my knee 30 minutes previously, I was not up to the one... More

Sadly we were only able to stay one night at this park. The sites are very private with many trees between each site. Surprisingly a lot of campers for mid-October. I can't speak about the park staff as I never encountered anyone. The bath houses were clean, but only two showers per restroom (and to my knowledge there is only... More
