My wife and I took a day and drove up along the North Shore of Lake Superior - the portion in Minnesota. This is one of the state parks that we stopped at. It is approximately 60 mile northeast of Duluth, on Highway 61 -...More
Just beautiful here. A real nice visitor center and gift shop. Clean restrooms. Very friendly helpful staff. Views of superior are amazing. Definitely a great place to stop and hike along the lake trails etc.
This park has varied terrains and well maintained trails, walkways and stairs. I spent two different days in rain and in shine exploring the park. It totally embodies the North Shore with waterfalls, dramatic points to hike to the end of and the remarkable heights...More
Hidden away on the north shore of Lake Superior, this park has everything you could want and more. Great campgrounds for tents and RV’s. The views are spectacular! The hiking is diverse. Make your reservations early. It may be hidden, but people know about it...More
Loved our visit here! We hiked around the park, campground and checked out the Visitor Center. Everything was very well maintained and the trails were well marked. Beautiful scenery. Can't wait to return!

Tettagouche is one of our favorite North Shore Parks. The visitor center is well done, a great picnic lunch spot and great trails. We did the trails to Shovel Point (great views), Cascade Falls and then drove to the parking area to take the trail...More
Tettegouche has some great hiking trails but I'd recommend the Baptism river trail. We were there on a rare hot day and the river made a refreshing swimming hole for the kids. There are a lot of steps down to the pebble beach area and...More
No, it is not easy. If you go in, planning to stay in until your stay is over might be best for young children. If they are old enough to hike a bit that will help, but carrying them may be hard up and down the hills.
