2 friends and I spent a Saturday night in Givens "cabin/trailer" and even at 15 degrees outside I would have been happier in a tent. I have stayed at dozens of hot springs and actually prefer those that are somewhat rustic but this accommodation was the worst I've ever stayed in. When they finally dug a very narrow icy path... When the weather dips below freezing and stays that way, there is nothing like a soak in natural warm water to take away the chill! Historical Givens Hot Springs is family friendly in winter or summer. The views of the Snake River canyon and replica covered wagon provide an educational atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the water is soothing.... More

Thanks for the thoughtful review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you'll come often. We're also appreciative of the photos you posted - especially the one of the snow-covered wagon (click on photo with review). What incredible fortitude and sense of purpose those pioneer ancestors had to have to endure weather like this, along with other primitive conditions,... More

We visited four hot springs in Idaho and Montana, during our travel in Montana and Idaho, but not Mundo Hot springs, closed by Monday and Tuesday(?!?). Then we can compare all of them (Lolo HS; Givens HS; Miracle HS and Lava HS). I would say that Givens HS is similar to Lolo HS, but worse, than Miracle and Lava HS.... More

Thank you for your visit, and for taking the time and effort to write a review. Although the building is long in years (built in 1952), renovations are ongoing and constant, as repairs unique to a hot spring demand and time and funds allow. While an outdoor pool would be nice, there are plenty of those in the state; we're... More

Starting off with the water. It's great. Givens Hot Springs provides an awesome temperature and the nice silky feeling we all know and love. I don't have an itty bitty kid but, the availability of a kiddie pool was nice to see. The guy up front is very nice and quizzed our kid on some Idaho history, it was fun... More

Thank you for your visit and response. I'm glad you enjoyed the question/answer session with my husband and your kid. Steve enjoys having that interaction with kids, and vice-versa. You didn't mention whether your kid was able to answer the questions... Some kids have some pretty interesting answers. We are definitely a family-friendly facility, so 'true peace' might not be... I can't believe a mature woman can not wear a tankini to Givens! I was told my full coverage swim suit could not be worn because it looked like street clothing. What is up with that? I wanted to wear some thing more modest than most swimming suits and was told I could not wear mine. I could rent one... More

Givens DOES allow tankinis in the pool. Because of health department regulations, however, we don't allow tank tops or any other streetwear that has the potential of introducing lint, soap residue, perspiration or dirt into the water. I'm sorry your experience here was less than positive, and that you didn't get to enjoy the water which we work diligently to... More

Always enjoy our visits - not fancy, but a comfortable place that tries hard to make things work for all who come.

Interesting place. Seems to be a historical site where people have enjoyed hot spring water. The grounds are exactly beautiful, but they're nice. Camping in tents is free reign. We were passing through and thought we'd check this out. Was a nice night of camping. Lots of different family's. The is water looks like regular, nothing special, indoor swimming on... More

Attraction – 11309 Highway 78, Idaho, United States VERY RUSTIC facilities, camp and covered swimming pool in the Owyhee Desert of Southern Idaho just south of the Snake River on highway 78 between Homedale and the highway 45 junction. Ancient winter camp, turned homestead, then stage stop with travelers bathing facilities and now a swimming pool and campground. This is... More

Thank you, "Ma M" for your stay and for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay here. Most of your information is accurate, but I would like to clarify a few points. Our RV sites have 30 amp service (not 15). There is a well-stocked grocery store in Marsing, just 11 miles away, as well as several restaurants and... More

I've lived in Boise (50 miles or so distant) my entire life, and some of my earliest fond memories are of family trips to Givens' to swim. As an adult, I've visited with my wife and kids now and then... and at this point I'm also starting to bring grandkids. Givens' is NOT fancy. It won't provide that big-city or... More

I live in Oregon and when i come to or drive through Idaho I go out of my way to visit Givens. I have been coming here with my family and solo for close to ten years now. The water is great and the campground area is perfect for Rvs or pitching a tent. It is worth stopping at and... More
