We stopped at Lizard Head Pass and Trout Lake on our trip up the San Juan Skyway (CO145) to Telluride. This is a very scenic area! We started our hike early, 8:30 AM and I'm glad we did because it was warm when we finished. Beautiful views of Lizard Head and well groomed trails!

We took this trail in the morning. You pass forest, rocks and forest again on ways that are quite walkable. When you reach the peak of the trail you have a fantastic 360 round view. Takes about 4,5h both ways.
