I drove CA HWY 160 from Hood down past Courtland along the river to Grand Island Mansion and on down to Hwy 220. It is a beautiful drive along the levees especially as the sun is setting. The Paintersville and Steamboat Slough bridges are beautiful examples of Strauss Heel Trunnion bascule bridges and worth the drive themselves. The Grand Island... More

We took a great boat trip from Stockton, up the San Joaquin River to Rio Vista, round trip. We were on a pontoon boat and experienced beautiful scenery and lots of interesting beaches and restaurants to visit along the way. Would recommend to anyone looking for fun and adventure!

The California Delta is a maze of many waterways. You can meander the waterways for hours and days and weeks... there are so many places to go. Boat rentals available at numerous vendors.

We would of been lost if it wasn't California Delta Maps There are 1,000 miles of waterways. These maps have locations of Campgrounds, Marinas, Restaurants and much more. A must for Boaters, Campers and Fishermen.

We took off to the California Delta for a 3 days fishing trip. We rented a Cottage on Brannon Island and started fishing the Delta area. We caught about 50 striped bass, but they were all to small to keep. Striped Bass have to be 18 inches or larger to keep, but we had a lot of fun. The sunrise's... More

Absolutely love the Delta and I lived there on the weekends for quite a few years. A wonderful place to explore for boaters, day trips camping or staying in small hotels. Plenty of colorful restuarants and friendly people dotted throughout the marinas

Locals and tourists you must drive to the California Delta. From any direction head for Rio Vista (a good starting point). Take the Real McCoy II ferry across from Rio Vista to Ryer Island, drive the levees, circle the island, then take the J-Mack cable-ferry across Steamboat Slough to Grant Island. From there aim for Isleton. There's still bit more... More

Rent some jet skis, a little boat or a house boat, tool around, visit Lost Isle and pet a pig, meet people on other water crafts, enjoy the water, the many inlets and islands.. Always nice.

A network of serene and lovely waterways connecting quaint little towns and marinas between Sacramento and the Suisun Bay area. We took a sunset drive heading south on 160 and it was one postcard scene after another. I hope to God this paradise isn't ruined by Governor Brown's proposed twin tunnels project.

Check out the Delta Chamber of Commerce's web page and take the Delta loop by car. Many good restaurants in Ryde, Locke, Rio Vista, etc. If you have good boating skills, rent a skiff for the day or houseboat for the weekend, and get out on the water. Alternativley book a trip with one of the local '6-pack' charter fishing... More
