A quieter valley than Monument because only true 4WD vehicles and hikers can get into the canyons. This makes it a serene place to ponder. There are many caves with signs that older civilisations were here long before. There are dwellings in the rock formation caves too. Hieroglyphs and pictographs are still visible. A very historical area.

Beautiful and peaceful place. You can see amazing rock formations, get stunning views of monument valley, see arches, see Pueblo dwellings and granaries, petroglyphs and pictographs. Very few people go here, so you can have the place to yourself. Must go with a guided tour.

A amp guided tour that must be scheduled online. Ride in covered open rear of truck to various sites on the reservation accessed on rough dirt roads. Off road I g possible so be prepared. Saw ancient dwellings, arches, and petroglyphs. Our guide was fighting a severe cold so not as informative as she could have been but still interesting none the less. Tour lasted 3 hours and water provided.

I recommend this tour highly. We were the only people on the tour with Tony our guide. Tony was very knowledgeable and took us to some amazing caves and arches off the beaten track away from all the tourists. Great tour.

It was a life altering visit. Fantastic. Our tour was handled by Monument Valley Safari. Our tour guide was Roderick Redhouse. He was fantastic, was very experienced about the area, the culture, the history and stories about the Anazaci (as his grandparents told him). He took us though hikes and great stories. He sang to us in northern and southern styles, and it was beautiful. I strongly suggest this group.

We had Will and Duffy as our guides and in addition to teaching my husband how to use the panorama option on his iPhone (an essential feature if you are to capture the magnificent vistas in this part of the world!) Will and Duffy expertly navigated and drove through the difficult terrain with incredible care. We cannot emphasize enough how profoundly we were touched by these two men's love and respect for their people and their knowledge of their traditions. Their honoring of their language and the honesty with which they talked about their heritage and the terrible things that were visited upon native peoples were very moving and humbling. It made us realize that not only were we on sacred ground but that, in an important sense, we had temporarily left the United States for an older and deeper dispensation and relationship to the natural world. A privilege.

Mystery Valley was amazing! We had Bobby as our guide and he was fantastic at explaining the history of everything we were seeing and answering any questions we had. He played a Native American flute which was incredible. We climbed, hiked, and drove around for several hours in total. It is well worth the price and it’s amazing views! I highly recommend Bobby and the Mystery Valley guided tours. It’s only accessible with a guide! There were 5 adults and 1 kid, and we all enjoyed it.

While not as outstanding as Monument Valley, Mystery valley is very interesting and a worthwhile visit. It can only be accessed with a native guide.

We visited Mystery Valley with a combined overnight trip to Hunt's Mesa with Navajo Spirit Guides. We visited at least 6 different stops and each was a little different. I was amazed that these dwellings and drawings still existed and I found myself trying to imagine the area bustling with Anasazi life back in the day. We were allowed to go up into the dwellings and explore though a few required rock scrambling to get there. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this valley. FYI, there is one stop with a primitive restroom if you need it. However I recommend taking care of your business beforehand if possible!
