We had our own private taxi to get us to the start of the hiking spot, and paid 10 CUC each to access the area. You can book a full day excursion for 30 CUC from tourist centers in Trinidad which includes transport there, guide...More

We walked to the waterfall as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children (9+11)) and all liked it a lot. The water is cold and it's great to swim in the lake. The hike took us a lot longer than what the locals said...More

It had rained the day before we visited so the water was cloudy orange from the red clay soil but the water was so cool and refreshing and made the hike well worth it! Fun activity close to Trinidad that I would highly recommend but...More

This was to date my most challenging hike but it was worth it. My friend decided to stop half way so I had to continue the rest of the hike on my own. I met nice people along the way from Singapore , Chile ,...More

This is a nice spot. Shouldn't cost more than $35 to rent a taxi from Trinidad, opt for a newer one as the roads are steep and windy. For someone in good shape the trip should take 35 mins to get there (all downhill) and...More

This is a long long trail to see the Caburni Waterfall 2h in every way and the path is difficult with a lot of mountains, I recommend another waterfall.

The walk is nice, but a bit difficult, be careful! It takes about an hour and a half going downhill to get to the pools and an hour and a half going uphill (almost like continuous step climbing). The pools are beautiful, but we went...More

This is not an "easy" hike. You need to be in halfway decent shape to trek 1 hour to a waterfall! But when you get there the cold water is so refreshing. A must do in Trinidad. Hire a taxi. Usually 60 CuC for a...More

The hike took 45 minutes down to the waterfall and nearly double the time to come up. Try to go early in the morning so you can make your way back up before it gets terribly hot.

Hi, lab18a. What would you like to know about this attraction? Is it safe for two 7 year olds to trek?

Hi! My boyfriend and I are staying in Havana in March. Any advice on the best way to get to Trinidad from Havana? I am Mexican and speak Spanish fluently, so our first preference was to rent a car and drive there so we can set our own hours and make it a day trip. Are there horseback riding services that we should book this far in advanced? Hola!

I don't know about buses and travel from Havana or Varadero. I traveled to Salto de Caburni from Rafael Freyre, Holguin - with friends by their car.
