The Cuban countryside can be incredible beautiful, as Topes de Collantes and the Salto del Caburni certainly are. The trail head is at a half-finished, abandoned hotel on a concrete road, but things improve immeasurably from there. You hike about 3 km downhill to get...More

We originally wanted to go to another route but our driver didn't want to drive that far. This is the classic route and it's tough but worth it! Not too much to see on the way to the waterfall but there is a cool rock...More

Nice walk (3 km) but sometimes rather steep. Entry price : 10 CUC. Nice views. It will take you about 4 hours to return. Possibility to swim in natural pool. Take your own food/drinks. You can also buy drinks at beginning of the walk

Finding these amazing waterfalls is not easy, as the starting point is not well marked. But once we achieved that, the walk was well marked. Due to the path being steep and rugged in places and it takes at least 50 minutes to reach the...More

The walk down to the cascade is stunningly beautiful. We went there early with a taxi (50CUC return) and we were there practically alone for a good hour which was magic. I recommend taking a swimming suit as the swim in the natural pool is...More

After a long rocky walk in extremely hot weather, we arrived at a beautiful waterfall that cascaded down into a clear fresh water pool. the water is a cool antidote for the intense heat of the day. Be prepared to pay 10 CUC each to...More

Take the Russian army truck up into the mountains and walk to the waterfall and swim in the lake, its quite a long walk but well worth it. We are nearer 70 than 60 but still beat the youngsters on the walk!!!

Apologize for the late response. The house we slept in provided us with that option and service as there are many. We booked it the night before and our hosts took care of the taxi to the horses, the tour, and our ride back!
