Travelled up the sound on the ferry to Wellington and it was much prettier than expected and we enjoyed the journey up the sound. It did not seem as long because it was so scenic.

Stayed overnight to catch the ferry to Wellington. A beautiful and tranquil part of the world. Stunning natural beauty with low density accommodation to complement the natural beauty. Great little shopping centre with a large supermarket and lots of eateries to pick from.

Not much to do here but walking. (Good thing I like walking!) cute little town... but anything more than a few days would be too many. Friendly locals

Hi I am cruising into Picton on 2 March (dock 12 midday) with my 90 year old mother who is quite able. I am looking for a driving tour to a couple of wineries and scenery just a few hours. Any suggestions please? suzanne Winser
