The interislander ferry introduced us to the beauty of the sound and so we took a boat trip around and about the many islands; amazing. Stopped off at Ship Cove named by Captain Cook when his ship, The Endeavour, anchored here in 1770 to replenish...More

This is one of the most beautiful locations in New Zealand. Bring a camera! We went for a swim in one of the bays and were the only people there!

On our ferry ride out we were fortunate enough to see a school of dolphins jumping around just out the harbour! A very beautiful boat ride!

We came though this sound on the ferry on the way from Wellington and it is a superb journey and we were blessed with a warm sunny day so the views were wonderful

We drove from Blenheim to Picton (west coast to east coast) and decided to take the longer more scenic route. So pleased we did as it's a beautiful drive, fairly windy but you get that in New Zealand. Definitely worth doing.

Breathtaking and I will be back in summer so we can swim. June was a little too cold. The lookouts are very nice.

Best seen for the water as the dense trees along this very twisty road obscure much of the views except for some very fine viewpoints.

We did the walk after unseasonable wet weather and it was quite slippy in places (clay) it is very up and down but we thoroughly enjoyed it and if you walk a lot you will be fine and can take it at your own pace. We are... More

We stayed at the awful Brydon Accomodations in Blenheim, which I can't recommend! There were some nice wineries in the area, if I was returning I would look at one of those.
