A great tramp, well supported by Jake the Tour Guide. Some long days (>20km) were well paced on good walking tracks. Lots of opportunities to take in the breath taking scenery

We have similar view near our home & we were expecting views more like we found at Milford Sound. It's nice if you don't have large lakes & greenery near you.

Just amazingly beautiful. Hike the track - or sections of it. Go on a guided kayak and/or a boat cruise.

What can you say that dies justice to this beautiful area - just breathe and relax - the passion of the environmentalists looking to keep islands free of pests and unwanted waste is to be admired - I just love this place

Having recently visited Picton, we decided just to walk around the harbours waterways to enjoy the perfect weather.. and perhaps see a penguin.. no luck there

Picton has always been just a place to park and wait for the ferry, so spent two days with hubby relaxing. Walked to Bobs Bay, had a dip in the sea and thoroughly enjoyed it! Did some lovely gift shopping and lots of relaxation.

Our trip to the Marlborough Sounds was a mixture of land ( own car); sea Beachcomber Cruises); air ( flying back to Auckland by Air New Zealand from Nelson).. Fortunately Mother Nature remained kind. The open water cruise with Beachcomber cruises from Picton to Ship Cove watching wild life and the Interisland ferries was undertaken in smooth water. The circular road from Picton to Havelock gave plenty of time for camera stops. Then finally flying over the Sounds to Auckland on a cloudless day, was the icing on an already delicious cake.

Amazing wildlife, amazing wine, amazing people. The best part of New Zealand hands down.
No trip around the country is complete without a visit to the Sounds

The Marlborough sounds are just amazing and even if I have seen most of the sounds plenty of times I never get tired of looking at the scenery while on a boat

Yes it is a long way to walk but the views are definitely worth it. There is also the added bonus of a comfy bed and hot shower along the way.

Hi, we are thinking of doing a week down this way, likely travelling across on ferry from Wellington. What do people suggest we do (would be mid-late April) and is it best just to stay in Picton or do you have other ideas given we have a week to explore and could hire a car?

I am interested in a 1days private tour around Picton for the 17th of Dec. 2018 for 8 seniors, while cruising with Celebrity.
Can you recommend a good guide or a tour operator ?
Thanks
Tammy

Bonjour
