Leicester and Liana have decided to retire and close Waterways boating safaris. We would like to thank everyone who has enjoyed a day out on the water with us. We especially would like to thank all of those who gave us such great reviews over the last 15 years. We thank TripAdvisor as without this website, our business could never have been so successful. The concept that reviews are not solicited and are given freely is one of the best advantages of TripAdvisor. In our travels around the world, both past and in the future, TripAdvisor is our main source of unbiased and useful information from other travellers rather than being baed on commissions or advertising fees being paid by activity and accommodation providers.

A great day on the water driving small boats around the sounds. Even if you don't come across dolphins, Leicester will make it a memorable experience. Don't forget your togs for a swim and a don't miss the walk through the bush.

This was a fantastic way of seeing Pelorus Sound. Smaller than Queen Charlotte Sound, it was, non-the-less, spectacular. We drove our own boats (very simple and easy to use boats) and followed our guide in his. He encouraged us to drive a little round ourselves...More

What a great setup. Leicester is such a great character and knows more about the marlborough sounds than anyone else. You learn more in half a day than living there! Great fun driving the boats too. Anyone could do it.

An invigorating two days on the Sound in Lester's self designed rocket boats. Quick to launch and unsinkable the boats skim along at a good speed and cover large areas in very good time. Not only a good time but Lester would regularly pull alongside...More
