This unique centre provides an opportunity for nature-lovers to interact with, learn about and appreciate the unique flora and fauna of the Marlborough Sounds. The centre includes wild bird recovery, endangered bird and gecko breeding enclosures, and a self guided ecotour among native bush. Day/half-day trips include a boat cruise from Picton (Lochmara can easily arrange boat transport for you) on the stunning Queen Charlotte Sound, and an optional walk on the Queen Charlotte Track.

Went over on the early bird taxi for a wonderful morning. They have a lodge dog that wanders around very much at home. Breakfast was Fantastic, the animals they have to view are comfortably homed, and the underwater observatory is a great experience. Will definitely...More

Always a good time at Lochmara. Relaxed service, cold beer and excellent chips. Just what you need after time on a boat! It's relatively close proximity to Picton is great!

This place is truely a small paradise. You can do all sorts of activities or just relax in one of the many hammocks. I would definitely recommend spending a day there!

best quick stop in the sounds. shame you now charge for the walk up the hill. way to expensive with toddlers but shame they miss out .
