This is quite nice place to visit. It is not just the memorial statue but also the surrounding area which is good for walking.

A place to linger, to contemplate, to pay respects. A beautiful yet poignant Memorial, standing in a simple small park. Bordered by palms and flowers, this is a site to cherish.

Passed this as wandering around Akaroa.
For such a small place this was a very good memorial set in a lovely rose garden.
We always like to pay our respects as we travel.

Beautiful memorial to locals who have served. Picturesque setting, quiet contemplation garden. We did notice that they inscription honours those in the 1914 - 1919 war. But can find no explanation for the added year?

When you are happy enjoying your holiday it is sobering to visit some thing like this and to be grateful for what these people did for us. A nice way to give thanks and to remember. Beautiful memorial in main street well maintained. Go there and say a prayer.
