A unique journey from the charming shoreline village of Akaroa, up over the rim of an extinct volcano, past spectacular farmland and ocean views, and down eastern slopes to the Pacific Ocean. There, at the foot of one-hundred-metre cliffs, we will encounter an adorable colony of New Zealand Fur Seals, swimming and sun bathing amongst 8-million-year-old volcanic deposits.

Wow! My husband and I aren't even tour people but this was such an intimate tour with Paul we are now TOUR People. First of all, we were on a cruise ship that stopped at this port. I made reservations in advance and Paul was on the dock holding up our name. We found him easily. Turned out for that... More

I went on a cruise around New Zealand Dec 2016 and this short excursion was my favorite out of all of them! We drove through the most beautiful sheep farm. Sheep everywhere and I even saw a hair. The drivers had a lot of information about the windmills. We stopped at the most efficient mill on the farm, which was... More

An excellent shore excursion. Small group. Spectacular scenery. Paul was passionate about sharing his property and his knowledge and love of his seal colony. Wonderful information and to get up close to all the baby seals learning to swim in the rock pools was truly amazing! A definite highlight of our entire trip, as was beautiful Akaroa, a charming town.... More

This was a fantastic tour for a small group. We were a party of 7 with four adults and three kids. This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip to New Zealand. What a great day out with Paul to show us the beautiful countryside. Entertaining information about the history of his farm and the area dating way back. We loved it was a small group (just the two of us!!) and the highlight was getting up close and personal with the beautiful seals and their babies. The setting was so natural,... More

As many others have reviewed, this tour was certainly a highlight of our day in Akaroa as a family of 5 adults. The tour does not have more than 8 people which is just perfect. On our particular tour it was just us and another couple. Paul was knowledgeable and dedicated to ensure a good experience is had by all.... More

Booked this tour for my cousin and myself on our last day in Akaroa. We were absolutely blown away by the tour. Paul is a great guide and full of information. The tour was intimate and we got really close to wild seals. We learnt so much about seals and Akaroa and had an amazing experience. I can't recommend this... More

This was a great trip. Great scenic drive through Paul's farm down to the beach where the seals were. Paul was full of information about the colony and the mating habits. Really great to see the males, and the mother's taking care of their pups. Enjoyed the education about sheep farming and the area as well.

Take one of the boats from Akaroa wharf and just go out into the harbour, you will not only see seals, but dolphins ,little penguin and sea birds. You can swim with the dolphins and experience close up.
