This museum was one of the main reasons we came across to Western Australia and it did not disappoint us. I would strongly recommend that you do some research on the fascinating story of the Batavia before you come to the museum. This will help...More

This contained lots of interesting exhibits. Entry cost is a donation so it is great value. Guides were keen to give extra information. Worth a visit.

This was a very interesting museum with lots of artifacts and pieces from shipwrecks. It's fascinating, free and full of information. We were surprised by the collections and liked that there were interactive areas for children.

We were not going to go, but had time to spare. I am so pleased that we did! What a wonderful place to wonder around at your own pace without feeling pushed, lots of items to look at and activities for children to interact with.

Great displays detailing the pre-British nature of exploration by Europeans in Australia. When it was first mapped and named by outsiders it became New Holland for good reason.

Spent a good two hours viewing the exhibits in this special museum, and began to appreciate the age-old occupation by indigenous peoples, the earlier European visits to Australia by Dutch and French traders and explorers and the sheer dangers of early sailing in the western...More
