This was a lovely, sandy beach that stretched as far as the eye could see. The restaurants and toilets were a bit of a walk from the beach, and a bit pricey.

Spent a day here lazying on beautiful miles long beach. Took the 2euro return ferry across. Beds and umbrellas positioned well apart from others, all numbered, as we were given an allocated plot. Sea was rough but lifeguards patrolled the shoreline with life belts. Very quiet relaxing day and recommend a visit. €8 for 2 beds and parasol.

The short return ferry ride is just €2 for an adult with the ferry leaving regularly throughout the day. I didn't have the time to go hang out but wanted to see it and get my feet in the water. Mine was a quickie trip. I was actually astounded as to how many restaurants are there - make a stab... More

We were not sure what to expect. We managed to get on the 10 am boat (wished we had bought our tickets the day before) after a long wait. But it was so worth it. Great beach walk and lovely lunch. This is a breath taking beach with lots of places to eat and drink. Bring your sunblock and sunglasses... More

You must go here if you are visiting Tavira. Catch the ferry from town, take a picnic or eat in one of the restaurants on the island. Walk along the beach away from the umbrellas and you will find it almost deserted.

We went to Tavira Island with our nine months old baby. We would recommend using a beach tent, but sun umbrellas are available for rent too. The beach is monitored by a lifeguard and very suitable for families. The restaurants are overpriced, we didn't try them. Don't miss it when you're in Tavira. We stayed there just for the one... The little ferry was jam-packed, at 2 Euro a head round trip it's a bargain. 20 minutes to get there, 5 minutes to walk to restaurants, 3 minutes to the water and hot sand. There is a concrete walkway, baby stroller friendly. You can rent lounges and umbrellas, or bring your own. There are about a dozen open air restaurants,... More

A little trip by ferry from either Tavira Town or The Four Aguas is a happy experience. The island offers whatever you want, comfortable sun beds and umbrellas or a walk to solitude. Good restaurants offering fresh fish dishes. We love the Sunshine Bar too, a happy place.

A 15 minute gentle ferry trip for 2 Euros return fare from Tavira riverside, takes you to the beautiful long beaches of Tavira Island. Plenty of casual bars and restaurants away from the actual beaches tho conveniently located., On the main beach, life guards. Also straw sunshades and lounger beds to hire for the day or take you own. Quite... More

Lovely beach, so many pretty shells on the shoreline to walk by and admire. Lifeguards were on duty and actively looking out for swimmers in what was a fairly rough set of breakers. Clean toilets and a choice of beach bars by the anchor cemetery. If not too hot, suggest you walk rather than get the train. Lots of birds... More
