It is a old bridge created by the Romans. It is wide and long, pedestrians only. From above you can the the Lima river, there are always music playing. A wonderful experience in my opinion

At first I thought that the Roman Bridge was the one that crossed the river in Ponte de Lima. However, I found out that this bridge is not the Roman Bridge. Instead it is the Ponte de Lima Bridge. I was confused at first, but when I found the Roman bridge it was worthwhile! Once on solid ground, on the... More

This is a very attractive riverside town with a beautiful ancient bridge over the river Lima, lovely historic mansions and baroque manors. I recommend to explore this enchanting and peaceful town!

A world away from Lisbon and the south, this is a highly picturesque village of rather grand houses without any obtrusive 'developments' (though I don't think we need the 'statuary'). The trouble is, of course, that it depends largely on tourism, so in fact is mainly a well-kept museum, an anomoly that affects not just much of Portugal but all... More

Signature attraction of the lovely Ponte de Lima village. The village also has a nice market with local products and very good restaurants (apart from one or two tourist traps). There is a big parking free ground right in the centre on the edge of the river, making a visit easy, comfortable and pleasurable.

This was my second time back in Ponte de Lima and I cannot help but be amazed by the medieval Roman bridge. I loved taking pictures of the arches under the bridge and the reflections made on the water.

The bridge was decorated and lit for the festa novas ferias this week. Lovely walking bridge with a history. Quaint churches on wither side. The place has not lost its midaeval cultural and religious spirit. Come for the festa in September!
