If you visit Poland and you love nature this is a must trip, although it has been made commercial to go up as you can take the horse carriage up, I recommend taking the 2.5h-3h hike. It really is satisfying once you get up. Views...More

Our group took a taxi up to the entrance and there we got into a horse and carriage that took us the rest of the way. So nice to be able to sit back and relax and take in the scenery after doing so many...More

Probably one of the most astonishing and beautiful landscape sites I have seen. Pics do not do justice, but give you enough of the beauty to make you want to go. Plan this as an all-day trip. The less fit you are, the more time...More
Took an early bus from Krakow to Zakopane. Crossed the road and was in a minivan to 'base camp' for Morskie Oko. The official time to walk to the lake is 2 hr and 20 min. I took a horse carriage for 50 zloty. And...More

Yes, no problem. Just remember that dark comes early now (but the trail is the easy asphalt road, so you can hike down easily anyway if you have your own light). However if you need to get from Cracow to Zakopane before getting from Zakopane to the trail, I would suggest taking an early morning bus as otherwise the whole day will be extremely busy on the roads due to the All Saints' Day and people going to cementaries, so you could get stuck in large traffic jams.
Zakopane isn't that big so you own't need a guide. If your staying in Zakopane then you can take a taxi to the 'entrance' of Morskie Oko where you can either walk or get the horse and carriage ride. Enjoy!
