bit dissapointing

although the renesans city building are impressive it is a bit mess: cars passing by (why not a pedestrian zone???), unknown people present their skills (for money) and the accompaning music destroys completely the charm of this place. All over plenty of advertisements, not the real gem, although could be.....

Overcrowded place

Be prepared to face crowds of tourists there as the Old Market Square is among the most popular touristic attractions in Kazimierz Dolny. Many tourists are hunting for souvenirs there and many locals are trying to find naive customers ready to overpay for trashy gifts.

Quite overrated

It’s a square on a medieval town, well preserved and well advertised all around Poland. But that’s all. Nothing is authentic, just souvenir shops, ice cream bars, pizzeria and kebab (?? quite out of place in such town).
The history and the nice location made the whole place a top spot in Poland, but crowds of tourist made it impossibile to enjoy. Do yourself a favour, avoid this place and enjoy some sightseeing in other nice towns all around Poland.

Lovely market, with lots to do

Love the area. Bustling with people, stores, gypsies, and things to do. We enjoyed the rooster bread, shopping at the stalls, and just talking with people. They had a misting machine with water coming from the central well.

I also strongly encourage you to take one of the trams that leave the central square for a tour of the area. Totally worth it and really gives you a sense of the area.

Do be careful for the gypsies - they can be aggressive and target people they think they can scam to read palms.

Very compact old town with many historical places around

Beautiful market place of the meadival town full of historical buildings, coffees, restaurants and small local shops. Nearby, castle, convernt, churches and many more

Very quiet in Winter

Been to Kazimierz many times and the Old Square was so quiet, however, on Sunday we were approached (AGAIN) by the very annoying Romany ladies promising to tell your fortune. The easy answer is to answer very loudly in English!

Kazimierz central place

On the days before Christmas there were whole lot of market traders: sweets, drinks, traditional souvenirs, honey and Christmas trees of course. Personally I bought some cheese, which was actually really good. Nice atmosphere.
