This is quite a place and you know you are underground as you decend the numerous steps but it worth it even if you do not like confined spaces although it was a relief when the lift finally took us to the surface. The many sign=hts are amazing but stay with the tour as there are many tunnels that will... More

This place is not for anyone with walking disabilities. There are 800 and odd steps to go down and a lot of walking. Beautiful place and definitely have a tour as you will miss too much going alone, very informative rep on this tour and a funny man kept us chuckling throughout the tour. Would recommend pre booking as it... More

My first trip to Poland I was unable to go here due to a bad knee. This time we made it! The descent into the mine is rough, 65 flights with 7 steps to each. You have to have good walking skills. Moving through the mine is easy but there are a few laces where you desend 10 or more... More

Why are the Wieliczka Salt Mines on the Unesco list?? A more disneyfied place is hard to find. The guides gives you nothing but stupidities and religious jibberish. Nothing to help you to put the whole in its historic context. For heavens sake save your zlotys for something better

We decided to add the salt mine trip at the end of our Auschwitz tour. We were told that there were a lot of tour groups and that was an understatement. The groups are moved into one of the entrances of the mine where there is a 150+ step decent into the heart of the tour. you are joined by... More

Viewing the chambers and corridors of this mighty 'city' under the ground is an experience not to be overlooked. Hundreds of years of excavation have carved out unimaginable features on three platforms of descent to 135metres, wherein there are religious, banqueting and concert chambers added to those of historical value and restaurants. The good news is that you don't have... More

After mine tour we wanted to go via museum, which is part of the ticket, there was no one to answer when English tour starts - "wait" was the only answer we got. After ~20minutes of "wait" we got a tour guide who took our group, which turn to be half polish people who complained they do not understand, then... More

I have done another review under the other name of the salt mine but essentially this is to help travellers not get caught out like I did. The line to but just a ticket was a 3 hour minimum wait and then to get in at least an hour. But your tickets online and you bypass the ticket line. But... More

Decided to do Salt Mines. Train from Kraków Central only 6pln got two adults, only a 10 min walk from station to mine. Be warned at peak times there's a wait for 'individual' tourists (parties follow a different route in). Plus handy hint, the foreign queue is much shorter than the local polish one, just note the signs and don't... More

Well worth a visit but leave at least 4 hours. If going by guided tour take a packed lunch and a drink.
