Our cruise ship arrived at Koper and we wanted to visit the two cave sites. We had heard that the Postojnska Caves get very busy with cruise visitors and we didn't want to be part of a big herd tour. We found Istranka Tours in...More

We've visited many caves, but this was the best! As it was the holiday period, it was busy and we had to wait a while to get in the cave once directly outside it, (although not to pay), but it was worth it! We were...More

The caves are amazing and the tour well worth it. We just did the classic tour. My only complaints would be that the queues are long and there is an hour between tours. We arrived just before 11 but couldn't get tickets in time. Given...More

I have visited many caves over the years and this is a very picturesque cave. I wish we were allowed to take photos while inside but I do understand their policy. Our guides were very good and knowledgeable. Very glad we went.

We took the classic tour in English and paid 16€. For me personally the experience was average. First off all, the cave does have some very impressive sights, so you will enjoy these parts. But, you are obligated to follow a tour guide who want's...More

These caves are definitely worth a visit. We did both tours (€21/adult - €16/student). The first one is a guided tour and really impressive. You will go deeper in the caves and the guide gives some interesting information. The second one you can do on...More

So this is our second cave in Slovenia and we though our expectations were surpassed again after viewing this cave. Postojna was the other awesome cave. This one differed in it features in that it is the canyon that is awesome. Whereas postojna had a...More

Genuinely Epic in scale. We took these in, as part of a flying visit to Southern Slovenia. Its like something Tolkien would have imagined for scenes in the Hobbit. A reasonable level of fitness is required, there are quite a few steps involved, and if...More

Get there early so to beat the buses of tourist trips arriving, first tour is the quietest. The English speaking guide was really good, it's a lot of walking but so worth it. Informative throughout and opportunity to ask questions as you go. Stunning and...More

The cave is protected by UNESCO and is located in a very beautiful area of Slovenia. Organization of the visit is carefully done, from parking, to organizing groups. The visit has 2 parts, one with a cave guide, one without guide thorough a canyon (optional)....More

The trip through the caves are physically strenuous. I am in my 70's, somewhat fit, and was physically exhausted. I hope this helps.

You can buy tickets at the caves. We visited in Aug 2016 on a Sunday at 1:45pm and were able to buy tickets for the 2pm tour on the spot. There are 100+ spots for each time slot so you don't need to worry about tickets. Only... More

Didn't find any online sales. Probably tour agents will sell those in advance. However, it's ok to just go there and buy tickets, the amount of participants in a tour is not limited. Easily 200 persons may enter at the same... More
