Riga's city hall is an ok building in an area of outstanding buildings.
While it has a decent dome, which is worth a peek, that's about it.

A reproduction of the original town hall built in 1850 and destroyed in 1941. This was rebuilt from the original blueprints in 2003. A nice looking building.

The city hall was a nice building. It didn’t look as old or as nice as the building directly across the square. It’s a lively part of old town.

I saw this attraction when visiting the House of the Blackheads and the Statue of Roland. I did not see any tourists going inside so I presumed that it is not open to the public. Took some pictures here and walked on.

The City Hall building, the seat of the Riga City Council, is located on the Town Hall Square.

The original building from the 1850s was destroyed during World War II in 1941. The current City Hall is very new. It was completed in 2003.

The building itself is pretty to look at, but it is not open for visitors.

Part of our favorite squares in Riga, the building really comes to life at night. The green light hitting the building really makes it glow and stick out!

Riga City Hall, like most of the Old Town, was destroyed during WW2. It was rebuilt by the Soviets and is located opposite the House of the Blackheads, and has the statue of Roland facing it in the square to its front. I tried to enter and was told by the security guard on duty, who did not even bother to look up from his seat, that no entry was permitted. So, it is only viewable from the outside. That said, it is an attractive building, and if you look up to the roof above the door, you will see a statue of 'Justice' located there.

This is on Town Hall Square opposite the House of the Black Heads and along with it's neighbour, looks lovely when it is lit up at night. The square is a lovely place to visit when the sun has gone down as there are some excellent live musicians that play there.

The Council that governs Riga dates back to the 13th century and the site where the Town Hall sits has been used by politicians as long as anyone can remember. The Town Hall was destroyed in World War 2 and rebuilt in 2003, one assumes a replica of what was originally there. It sits on an impressive square across from the House of Blackheads and the Statue of Roland Here.
