I stopped by Sena Klets last June (first visit to Riga). This small shop near the Town Hall Square showcases traditional Latvian costumes from all over the country (experts can pinpoint a costume's origin from plaid or stripe colors and patterns, shawl and headress styles, embroidery colors and patterns, . . . ). A complete outfit, probably a once-in-a-lifetime investment,... More

This is not an activity or visitor attraction, it's a shop. Based in Riga and very easy to reach as it's just opposite the tourist information office. I was fed up of all the usual touris tat and really wanted to find a place selling authentic handcrafted items. I was fortunate to stumble on the website for this shop online.... More

I really enjoyed visiting the National Costume Center during my recent trip to Latvia. I was looking for some traditional Latvia winter hats for my daughters and found the most wonderful hand knitted, colourful bobble hats one could wish to find. The center has a vast selection of traditional Latvian clothing for Latvia's major cultural festivals. A must see on... More
