It is a beautiful park. Very small but that makes it perfect, you don't get tired walking through it. There are nice details and flowers in the garden and you can get a canal cruise from there. The prices dropped if you didn't pick the first cruise operator.

The place that is loved both by the locals and the tourists - Vermanes Park. It's got lot of green grass to stay on, the watery channel filled with boats to ride on and ever-ready-to-eat ducks to feed and Opera House to just look at. It's even got a small man-made waterfall. It looks best on sunny days and, despite... More

This rather large park is located in the very downtown, close to many tourist attractions, University and Russian orthodox cathedral. Nice place for a rest in a sunny day or slow walk.

Nice park especially summer time ,very pretty fountains when they do work . Winter time is not much to do there ,it's too cold and we just walked around while the baby was asleep in the Pram .

A walk through Vermanes Park in the snow is stunning. The canal was iced over and the park covered in snow. The trees looked beautiful covered white over.

The park is not very large, following the pond inside it you can circle it in less than an hour. Ducks, pine trees, beutiful banks, all alongside unusual statues, a Chinese arc, and a small lighthouse!

In the center of the park is the Freedom Monument, where you can see two guards protecting the monument, on the south side of the park near the monument there are WC's for ,30 euros.

This park is right in the center of the city separating the Old town from other areas. It's encircled by the Daugava river canal with few bridges and looks very romantic, specially at night when those bridges are lit up. The central path where's the Freedom monument divides it in two parts. Great place for walk and some rest while... More

Was lucky enough to have a lovely walk in the late afternoon sunshine following a fresh snowfall. The part is pretty with landscaping and a canal runs through it. Very attractive in the snow and the lights appearing in the darkness added to the overall appearance. I would think this is an attractive space in spring, summer or autumn. It... More

This is a little oasis in a capital city, all cities have these so it's nothing special, but they do make good use of the canal and the landscaping is quite good, take a break from shopping and sight seeing with a short rest people watching.
