Wonderful and atmospheric area, with narrow cobbled streets, some great churches and architecture and a wide variety of places to eat and drink

Very surprising to find such an interesting old part in the City of Riga, with old buildings in very good condition, the "Art Nouveau" area and a very nice park in the central city.

Awesome gem in Riga. Yes it's touristy but it's what makes this place interesting and so close and central. Beautiful architecture here and I must say my favorite part.

New, nondescript restaurants have arrived that could be anywhere in Europe. There are still real gems to view with the old cobbled roads adding to the attraction.

With a good guide book there really is no need for a guided tour. All significant locales are well within a 2-3 hour walk--more if you shop along the way.

Old town Riga seems to be "lost" to the money. Modern buildings and glass ceiling cafés turning up in the midst of Hanseatic buildings and loud rock music dominates the streets. Lots of nice food but mostly americanized style restaurants such as McDonald's, Double Coffee,...More

Lithuania has beautiful beaches on the Curonian Spit. I didn't see any in Latvia.
