And when you... More

This town square also shows off great historical architecture and is also part of the old town area. Various shopping and restaurant activities surround this square.

Spectacular restoration of 13th Century headquarters, and other historic buildings. Think Monterey's Custom House Plaza on steroids.

Be sure to walk up to the covered area of the city hall (Not as attractive building opposite house of the Blackheads). There is a nice "key to the city" there made up of hundreds of keys donated by citizens of Riga.

The square is just across the bridge from the Radisson hotel and a good spot to start a tour from as the city's main landmark - St Peter's Church - is just behind the square. The House of the Blackheads is a reconstruction but is very well done and the square is pretty and well frequented by tourists and musicians.... More

Great place to sit and have a drink and watch the people go by. Great architecture and historic clock. Several bars and restaurants to choose from right there

This is an iconic spot in Riga, Latvia. The facade of the Blackheads buildings are beautiful and ornate, and though they are reproductions, you can see the care that was taken to make them as they were in 1334.

The square itself is small, but there's an information office, so it is easy to begin your Riga trip from here. Also, many tour groups get together here in this square.
