On the side of the street. Personally, I would say it is more a landmark it is especially so if you are first time there.

Maybeera you not know but just 40 years ago there was a thing named Irion Curtain and Latvia was at the opposite side of it. Like any cutain it was a bit transparent and had some molebites, but if you want to have a look behind it you must follow some rules. In general Soviets allow you to visit their... More

You can actually rotate the globe and see the maps. Very nice for picture taking. I do not know if you can actually do something else with the globe but worth a try.

This is a great starting spot for exploring the Jurmula (Dzintari) area, blocks away from great shopping, the concert hall, great restaurants, and of course, the gorgeous beach.

Globe is not there anymore. It`s been taken away for renovation. And have no information when we have chance to see it again

I walked done the Jomas Street to see the Globe at the end of the Pedestrian Street and could not find it. I asked a local ice cream seller and was told that the Globe has been removed 'temporarily' for renovation. It is NOT yet clear when it will be coming back!

Yes, I agree with some other travelers who say there is no big deal of the globe. If we could find out the reason why it is there, then maybe different, but now...1 photo and nothing else.

Jurmala's Globe is a kind of bronze monument and it is 3 meters height Globe which is rotates around its axis. It is located in the very end of famous central Jomas street (with boutiques, cafes, etc.) right between Majori and Dzintari. Lots of tourists arriving there, it is a kind of rendezvous place for couples. Come there to rotate... More

I am not sure if there's anything to review about this place at all. It's just a monument of a globe, it's quite large and we made some fun photos with it as we were doing a scavanger hunt, otherwise, deffinately not the place you would travel far just to see it.
