an educative and highly emotional spot. I have lived it throufg and people with weak heart should remain sitting in the park nearby. The overview of the era 1940-1991 and some other periods added is authentic, dramatic and enlightening.

Some great stories badly told. Estonia has much to tell about occupation, most notably by Russia and Nazi Germany. But you will struggle to make sense of it here. Its very small and most of the information comes via video screens showing testimonies of those who experienced it. as the screens are close together, you can hear them all. they... More

A small collection of items on one floor detailing the Russian and German occupations, with women's lib items in the basement. Might be worth a visit if it is raining but otherwise not much to see

This museum I had looked forward to visit, as the books on Tallinn mentions it. Therefore when we easilly found it at one of the ends of Old Tallinn. We thought we would have a grand experience. The displays of Second World War occupation is nice and the Soviet period is sort of mentioned, but the expected levels of interaction... More

What an absolutely fantastic museum this is. There's a lot of information but I really did find the extra headset info invaluable (€1 with leaflet from tourist info ticket). There's a lot of listening though! It's incredible to think this actually happened in my lifetime!

I don't like museums!, but hey THIS one moved me. So much history, many interactive stories and (alas) so much of it spanning the times of our child hood or parent lives. The museum has some special archive material and uses TV/Film interviews to very good effect.

28th January 2017. If you need persuasion that communism is not the way to go come here. Even if convinced it isn't, still come here. Entrance fee was 6 euros and well worth it. The paintings downstairs of torture by the NKVD - facing Soviet style posters extolling the wonders of communism - are very disturbing, and the juxtaposition of... More

Not expensive to visit (5€) but unfortunately not worth the visit anyway. A very small museum that mostly displays artifacts typical for the different year's during the cold war era rather than tell the story about it. Some movies is playing with people that telling stories but so much more could be done to make the visitors taken by the... More
