This statue has a prime spot in the Cathedral Square. It’s a big statue. The guy looks a lot like Darth Vader with a horse. I assume he had something to do with settling the area.

This is an important monument in that Grand Duke Gediminas brought the capitol to Vilnius, but other than being able to look at it, it's not spectacular. Part of Cathedral Square's viewing options

Our Free Walking Tour started infront of this statue. Our Guide explained what he did for the development of Vilnius and Lithuania as a city and country. No wonder, even the big main road near Cathedral Square is also named after him.

Quite aside from the historical significance of the figure depicted in this statue, the angles of it are amazing. I figured that at any moment the Grand Duke Gediminas would simply fall off the top! Located in Cathedral Square and impossible to miss!

A beautiful bronze sculpture of Lithuania’s Grand Duke Gediminas. Meaningful statue that only the ones with deep understanding of art and history will comprehend. He holds a sword with his left hand and blesses the city with his right hand. He was a diplomatic leader.

This statue has some of the most bizarre angles I've ever seen on any statue. It's inhuman. Gediminas is leaning forward and holding a sword in a supremely awkward position. It's truly unique, if not beautiful.

This Gediminas is located close to the Gediminas Avenue and the Bell tower at Cathedral square. To me, it's just another statue, but to Lithuanians its holds great history as one of their great heroes.

This statue is definitely out favorite one in all of Vilnius. Located right next to the main square, cathedral and Christmas market. Gives the area even way more character!

An impressive and imposing monument close to Vilnius Bell Tower and Cathedral. Great care to detail in the statue of Gediminas. He was one of the most famous rulers of Lithuania and was successful in expanding the country’s reaches and territories from the mid-thirteen century onward. Statistically, Lithuania doubled in size during his reign.
