Posting its own constitution, Uzupis ( past the river ) declares its independence. Some of the articles are such as : " a dog has the right to be a dog ", " a cat has the right to choose its owner " etc.

when you cross the bridge to uzipis, look bach at the wall, past the swing hanging from the bridge- there she sits waving her tail- not really, but you can easily miss her.

What can I say? If you like neighborhoods that are decorated with random guerrilla street art generated seemingly by regular folks (mostly) unaffiliated with the government, Užupis is for you. The angel is a great example.

If you walk across the bridge to Uzupis, you'll see the mermaid tucked away against the side wall of the stream. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but it's cute.
