The funicular to the Castle Hill is out of order. To get to the top of the hill, take a path from the side of Neris River.
On top of the hill, you will find the Gediminas Castle Tower and panoramic views.
We have used these from Derbyshire and Shropshire in the UK, Wales (Aberystwyth) to Budapest and they are always fun and a great way to get to the top to see an attraction but sadly this one is closed at the moment while they do...More

Went there early morning, not crowded and it was a nice climb through a park.
However, there is a construction going on, and I understand the funicular train is closed. So you need to climb a wide path of cobblestone slope.
