Nice especially if you are also interested in the local history. Great food and some nice souvenir shops. People know English and in general are friendly.

You can easily spend a couple of days in the Old Town which has beautifully renovated. Most of the shops in centre are touristy.

Beautiful Medieval and Baroque Historic Centre to rival Krakow or Prague. Lovely set along rivers on hills. Absolutely charming and historic.

Inevitably travellers make comparisons with other old town areas with which Europe is blessed with. All of the three Baltic capitals have, in my view, terrific old towns. I don't consider Vilnius Old Town to be as beautiful as that of Tallinn but I was impressed by its size and the fact that there were so many streets to wander... More

Few really must sees except for strolling in old town, wich is perfect if that is what you came for. If you think it epuld be nice to bump into neighbours or Brother-in-laws and to hear your native language around town you have come to the right place. If not, I suggest you visit Lviv or Minsk or something instead.... More

It's nice to stroll around the Old Town. Restaurants, Cafés and shops are all over the town. There are also some tourist attractions worth to visit.

I've been to lots of old towns in europe. Vilnuis is one of my favourites. It's rather large compared to some but very interesting and has lots to offer.
