This bridge has had rough times. It has been blown up, demolished and rebuilt again and again. In each corner, there was a Soviet statue representing old-school socialism. They were demolished in 2015 because they represented the city's Soviet heritage.

After walking round vilnius came across this green bridge with rings hanging from underneath. Very busy bridge with people walking and very busy road. Ice was floating on the river, as it was -4. Having been -7 the day before.

The bridge over the Neris River, connects the city center with the district of Šnipiškės. The original 16th-century bridge was the oldest bridge in the city but sadly it was burned by the retreating Lithuanian Army in 1655. A new one was completed in 1679....More

The statues are gone, so now it's just a green bridge convenient for crossing the river. The river view is beautiful, though. The flowers on both sides of the river banks form the words "I love you" and "I love you too" in Lithuanian.

It is called Zaliasis Tiltas (Green Bridge), because it is green. They had soviet statues on it as well, but now they are taken off. Local people have divided opinions about these statues. And actually there is nothing more special about this bridge.

This is one of Vilnius bridges. Its architecture is not very impressive and original. This is not a new bridge. A comparison and it is not a big bridge. Now a lot of talk about it because of the Soviet era who stood by his...More

A Soviet era bridge in the center of Vilnius. Each corner of the bridge has a statue from olden times and there has even been arguments for removing the statues altogether. Fortunately this didn't pass, so the statues will stay as part of the history....More

This bridge over Neris with its dense traffic has four rusty statues from the Soviet occupation. The last year the Red Army soldiers symbolically have been looking into a big NATO flag and the workers into the same size Vytis flag (the White Knight, the...More
