The church has elements that date back to the 15th century inside and out including some very old paintings on the inside that date back to the 16th century which are very unique.

We were walking through Vilnius on a Sunday so we saw lots of churches hosting mass and this one was the most popular we saw with many patrons standing at the back. We went back before the evening mass and were able to go inside and look around.

We included this church in a self guided walking tour of Vilnius because there are many nearby attractions to check out. We spent about half an hour in this church and at the nearby St. Anne's Church.

This is such a lovely church, which together with its nearby sister church have a massive appeal to tourists and photo-op enthusiastics alike.

There was a short musical presentation when I visited this church. There was no musical instruments being played in the background, just melodious blending of the voices of the female and male singers.

Most of the decorations at this church are made of wood, making it quite different from the other churches of Vilnius. Also present are several faded paintings on the top areas of the walls, all seemed very old.

Located just behind its smaller cousin, St. Anne’s Church, is the 15th-century Bernardine Church (also known as the Church of St. Francis of Assisi). It is easily recognisable by its gabled (triangular) roof and pink/white colour combination.

The Bernardine Church is another important example of Gothic architecture in Lithuania. Renaissance and Baroque features were added in the 17th and 18th centuries.

This enormous church was shut down during Soviet occupation, unlike its smaller cousin, St. Anne’s Church, which was allowed to remain open.

As is the case with St. Anne’s Church, the Bernardine Church‘s exterior is far more attractive than is its interior.

However, it’s part of an incredibly beautiful complex and well worth visiting.

Vilnius landmark, located in the old town. Worth to visit. Check the Bernardinu park/garden behind this building. Nothing else to add.

The 2 churches are basically inside the same complex. There are so many churches in Vilnius, but those 2 are the most beautiful.

An amazing church in true gothic style. Supposedly Napolean fell in love with this church's beauty. I would recommend this as an "antidote" to Vilnius' many baroque beauties.

This church is located nearby the St. Anne's Church. In many ways it upstages that church. It is one of the main brick-red churches in Vinius. Almost every corner there is a church in Lithuania. This is one of the many stand out beauties in Vilnius . It is located in Old Town.. not too far from the KGB museum.

We came to this church to visit St Anne’s (given how much Napoleon loved that church). While this church was nice, and we could see the exterior of St Anne’s, unfortunately the door to St Anne’s was locked. Not sure if we just visited at a bad time, but not being able to visit St Anne’s was a disappointment.
