This is museum is about history and present of Lithuanian railways. It is located in the building of the train station. We didn't pay as we had a valid ticket of Lithuanian railways and this made the trick. Very nice for adults and children.

06 July, 2017. It was an overcast morning on my second day in Vilnius, Lithuania, when I set out to explore the Old Town. I walked from my accommodation (B&B&B&B&B) towards the Old Town past the Railway Station, when my eyes fell on a board,...More

As a railway fan, I found the outdoors collection of histotical (mostly soviet) trains very interesting. The little indoors museum is well equipped too, but information in English is scarce and swallow. I found the outdoors space closed but they opened it for me after...More

1.80 euros gets you into the Railway Museum attached to the main Vilnius Railway Station. The vast majority of the narrative displays are in Lithuanian but the material displays are, in themselves, very interesting. At the rear of the main display room is a children's...More

With more English signs it would have been a perfect small museum. Interesting collection of locomotives in the outdoor section. People with no interest in railways would probably find the museum very boring. But we liked it.

The exhibits are numerous and varied, but the info is almost exclusively in Lithuanian. There are some model railways, but not very impressive. It seems to be possible to use a train simulator, but I didn't inquire about that. OK to kill time if waiting...More

Helpful staff and lots of great exhibits made this a good place to visit. The inside part of the museum has lots of items of interest including a replica of an office of a worker for a crossing post as the museum captures the details...More

Unless you are killing time at the station, I would say this isn't worth it. The majority of the information is in Lithuanian so if you can't speak it you won't learn much and the second part of it (about a 5min walk away) was...More
