Beautiful mayor's room

We thought we would just step in for a quick look and the local guide captured us because she was so proud of her site. For just one Euro you can see several interesting exhibits and perhaps she will let you on to the balcony where the mayor would stand to make a speech to the people in olden times.... More

Square is nice and building compliments it. Staff very nice but honestly not a lot to see. If you're cold step in otherwise, I wouldn't go in again.

This looks great in the main square in old town. But I didn't go inside. I ate lunch at Dvoras just opposite the church. Good Lithuanian food. (Gira (bread drink) & I recommend the Cepelinai (dumpling wrapped sausage?). Also cold beet soup (bright pink and delicious).

We were so lucky to visit just at lunch break from the appr. 40-45 weddings they have each Saturday. So we got to see the Mayor's room, which is beautifully decorated and with golden chandeliers. The lady in charge even lit the lights and that was beautiful. She also showed us the balcony. There is a little museum attached, not... More

Really interesting place for a wedding. Lots of wedding watched from the many cafes in the square, excellent place to people watch.

Nice museum in the Kaunas Town Hall on the main square in old town Kaunas. The museum is of things locally in the Kaunas area.

Not the most expensive museum in town, but on the other hand there is not much to see either. Most People might as well just enjoy the view from outside.

First time there and lucky that it was a sunny day. We walked to the Kaunas castle after we parked our car a block away. Then we walked into the City Museum. The staff was friendly and told us a lot of sites in the old town to see and how to manage to get there by walking.

We were there on a drizzly Saturday, but the day was brightened by the multiple weddings that took place throughout the day. Happy families gathered in front of this beautiful building.

We had the misfortune of visiting Kaunas on Father's Day, which is a national holiday (check the calendar before you go!)! However the tourist information part of the building was open, and the building itself is really lovely from the outside.
