Inside the dome is so high that the rest of the interior seems small. Banners in Lithuania's colours hang majestically giving it a softer appearance. Outside ciolumns appear to have iron bases which are beginning to rust.

This church is big but cosy. There’s always a place for you to sit and pray in silence. But it’s not all. In the main entrance on the right side you will find information place and big black map called “XXIst c. CATACOMBS”. It’s interesting...More

This is a wonderful old church at the bus station end of Laisves Avenue and so quite a walk from the Old Town. You will see it In the distance from either end of the road and be drawn to it like a magnet, as...More

Looks really nice in the evening and nice place to sit down nearby. Outside really needs to be redecorate though.

I walked down to the other end of the promenade and bumped into this church. Promenade was under construction and church was the only interesting thing I saw. Otherwise Kaunas is very nice city from the centre but I did not have a lot of...More

Never has anything to date took my breath away. Walking around, slowly, stopping, absorbing. It's beauty in corporeal form. Kaunas is beautiful as it is, and wow my apartment is only a few hundred metres away. I'm so safe here. So safe. Honestly lone middle...More

Very interesting church - information board tells how it was taken over by various conquerors who each removed the preceding imagery or symbols. Look for the dove that replaced the russian emblem.

St. Michael's stand stately, anchoring one end of Laisves Avenue. You could tell this was once a centerpiece, but is sadly in need of outside restoration.

The church is nicer on the outside than on the inside. But still it's worth a visit - there is plenty to see. I was intrigued at how bloody the paintings inside are. It is a quiet, pleasant place, so respect the people praying while...More

It looks a bit run down on the outside, but this church that stands at the center of the new town of Kaunas is interesting and well worth stopping to see. Originally an Orthodox church, this now Catholic church continues to have a layout associated...More
