A lovely museum depicting Lithuania's many battles - there are lots of exhibits of uniforms, firearms and ammunition, several old army vehicles and a display of all the flags used over the years. There is also a lovely, peaceful garden outside with an eternal flame...More

This large museum describes Lithuania's battles over the centuries. There are many interesting exhibits inside and several monuments outside. There is a lot to see.

The building itself is impressive. The exhibitions are OK if you’re into old weapons and uniforms. The main hall with its architecture was my main interest.

A must go if you are into military things. You can seen many different guns, swords, outfits, and everything related to military things.

For English speaking visitors all exhibits are thoughtfully subtitled in English. I came out having learned a lot more about Lithuania's struggles for independence than I'd had any idea of before. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and informative.

The place is not so big, but on it you will be able to see a high variety of guns, some of them historical.

The place offers a nice history lesson - especially for someone from Poland (as both countries constituted one kingdom for many years). There many exhibits from medieval armory to modern weapons. If you are interested in history (the days of Polish-Lithuanian glory in XV-XVII centuries)...More

Very fine displays of interesting weapons through the ages. Great collection of military firearms from the 20th century. Fine armours. Well made models of fortifications, etc. We were lucky to have a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide.

Take time to view. Gives a good insight to the history of Lithuania. Small children may get bored but still worth the effort.

It does cost and from memory it was 2 euros. It is very close to the main Freedom or Liberty Avenue (Laisves Av) and I would say it took me approximately 10 Minutes to walk from Rotuses in the old town to the museum. If you... More
