You can have a great view on this bridge by going up the hill or taking the funicular. You will also have a nice city view and also a great time.

The bridge is now long since stripped of its soviet decorations, and is just an ordinary bridge. Some of the original decorations are however on display at the outstanding Grutas Parsk outdoor museum. Which is highly recommended if you are in that part of the country anyway

I have read that this bridge had some historical signs, now removed. Too bad, from my point of view. Anyway, we crossed it on foot and the view of the town from its central point is nice. Worth it. Much traffic.

It's just a bridge and there's really no reason to visit it unless you need to cross it... There's really nothing to see at the other edge as the funicular to the top of the hill is closed for renovation. If you vant to see the old town, stay at the south end and if you want to see suburbs (actually quite interesting), pass the bridge and venture into areas not recommended during night...

There is nothing exceptional about this bridge or it's history that couldn't be said about almost every pre-war bridge in Europe, it was built, the Nazi's blew it up during the war, it was re-built, not much more to say about it really.

Original bridge was destroyed in the WWII and new built 1948 in quite typical Soviet style. In my opinion there is nothing special to see in this bridge, but connects Kaunas old town to Aleksoto on the other bank. On the Aleksoto side you can take Aleksotas Funicular (Aleksoto funikulierius). Traffic is very busy so use the subway passages. If you are coming from Via Baltica from south and traveling to Kaunas, most likely your navigator takes you over this bridge.

After they covered all the authentic soviet decorations, this is just a way of getting across the river. Perhaps to visit one of the two funiculars in Kaunas, and where there is a funicular there is usually a view to be found. I wouldn`t plan on making a day of it, though.

The bridge brings you across the Neman River into the old town of Kaunas. Busy traffic bridge, but still interesting.

It's a fairly odd-looking bridge, seems sturdy! Lots of cobwebs on it. Takes you from Old Town across to the Aleksotas funicular and hill, which is worth seeing!
