This is a fantastic memorial one simply must visit. It's located on a hilltop, which will give you a lovely view of the city. The memorial itself has a lot to offer, so take your time exploring it. A wonderful piece of architecture in my...More

Went to visit just as going dark.. the view to the castle and over the city was beautiful. Special place which marks huge human sacrifice for a more peaceful world.

So incredibly sad to read about the people buried here. Very well kept. Definitely get the trollybus (minibus 147 I think) up as it’s a tough walk, lots or steps and I mean lots! And they are uneven in places.

We walked to the Slavin from our hotel, Austria Trend, in about 20 minutes. It's not a direct route but I thought it was worth it, given the memorial is dedicated to those that gave their lives in the liberation of Bratislava. There a two...More

Very much worth seeing, it was blanketed in snow and completely deserted when we went up in mid January.

Cemetery of soviet soldiers from WW2 with a pompous monument in the middle, overlooking Bratislava city. Not much to see here apart from taking few photos of monument and some panoramic views of Bratislava. But worth a visit as it is for free.

The walk up the hill is warming you up and easily accessible from the train station. On your way to the old town center.

This memorial to the Russians who dies in the liberation of Bratislava sits in a prominent place on a hill overlooking Bratislava. The steep route up to it takes you past some upmarket houses. The views of the city and surroundings are very good. The...More
