Walk up to Slavin is a trek, its all up hill, but the views are worth it. You get a view of all of Bratislava, and learn more about its history whilst up there. The monument itself is very pretty, and the graves are all well maintained. Definitely worth a visit whilst in Bratislava.

This memorial was built in commemoration of the fallen soldiers during the battle of Bratislava in 2nd World War. It is off the beaten path. It usually takes 20 minutes from the city center by car. But it is worth a visit. It has a good view of the city from above. It is a perfect place for reflection or... More

I loved the walk up to Slavin, it is quite hilly but good exercise. There is a bus which takes you there but I didn't see one and I don't know how often they run. This is a war Memorial and the monument is quite an impressive size.

Recommend for couples for nice walk with beautiful view. You can continue to Horaren in Horsky park for best chocolate.

This is the best location to get a look on whole Bratislava. It's also good place to learn something about history.

Slavín is a memorial monument and military cemetery in Bratislava; we visited as part of the Authentic Slovakia tour. It is the burial ground of thousands of Soviet Army soldiers who fell during World War II while liberating the city in April 1945 from the occupying German Wehrmacht units and the remaining Slovak troops who supported the clero-fascist Tiso government.... Many steps up to the top but worth a visit. There are 6000 red soldiers buried here in mass graves and separate graves for the higher rank officers. There isn't a lot to see other than the beautiful views all around Bratislava and out and across to Austria. For us it was really quiet but can get very busy at... More
