We visited this museum while on a day trip through Viking. It is very interesting and her use of the color blue in her work is amazing. Her art depicts the Hungarian rural life and you can see her love for the people and the Danube in her art. I honestly was not familiar with her work but now I am and am amazed at her work. Definitely stop in if you are touring the town

Excellent!

All 4 of us loved this.

She was so prolific and her work was so varied.

You must take time to watch the video of her creating a piece.

Truly one of my most favorite museums ever.

It is small and intimate. Focused.

Worth the visit.

I wasn't familiar with the works of Margit Kovacs so nearly didn't go into this museum, but am really glad that I did. Her work is widely known in Hungary, but not so much outside. The museum looks very small and discreet from the outside, but you go in and out of different building using a central courtyard so it is much larger than expected. The ceramic work was very interesting, some of it quite touching. The work was displayed extremely well, nice signage in Hungarian and English with lots of little video screens around.
The security guards keep a very close eye on visitors here which is to be expected when dealing with such fragile exhibits. When at reception, you have to place any bulky bags in a free locker, as you

Touchy and cordial art of Magrit Kovacs was a surprise. She has no mediocre works, not at all, You carry memory about this exposition for days. I never heard about her before, my friend recommended me to visit and it is my recommendation now. I love her art. For sure it is not old masters, but it is so warm and it riches the best parts of your soul. The city is nice, food is excellent, what else to desire?

I had never heard of Ms Kovacs and this museum dedicated to her art was a gem of a surprise. It is in a small town outside Budapest called Szentendre and a lovely place to spend some time.

The ceramic collection on display is most unusual and depicts the talents of Margit Kovacs extremely well. The items on display are of interest to all ages and a school party of children was fascinated by the explanations being given about her style of sculpture. Just wish we could have bought some copies of her work!

For one thing - this is one of the few art museums in the world dedicated to a female artist. I am fascinated by her textures, colors, and subject matter!

Very interesting artwork, with multiple techniques and you can see her development with modified and different styles. Definitely a place to see if in Szentendre. Only negative is I was told I couldn't take pictures.

This town was so interesting---MANY shops, cafes, etc. It was a surprise to find the Ceramic Museum in this little town---quite impressive, well done and very classy. I was intrigued with it. We had already visited Budapest and wanted to find a new location of interest---this was perfect!

I had no idea what to expect when I entered this gallery and I was truly blown away by the beauty of her pieces. I was allowed to take photos and even use my flash. The attendant did follow me around, as someone else noted, but she stayed at a respectful distance and I certainly understand the need for someone to be in the room since the pieces are simply sitting on shelves all around. It would be easy enough for a visitor to get too close and knock something off or touch them. You can see the development of the artist over the years and there is a film (from 1958) showing her at work in her studio -- there are English subtitles.

Do not miss this place. Her works will stay in my mind for a long time.

There is only one floor accessible to wheelchairs. That is unfortunate because the film is on a lower floor.
