The Storno house is located in the main square of Sopron. It has two floors with many rooms where you can see a lot of artefacts that Ferenc Storno, the chimney-sweeper had collected during his life. Definitely worth visiting!

Not only the house, but the collection inside, which could be a museum too is worth to visit. YOu will have a little insight in the life of a "collector" family.

We went to this house that belonged to a chimney sweep artist. He and his family were collectors of many different but beautiful and historical objects. If you are interested in learning more about the people who lived here in the past this is a place to start. Highly recommend this to others.

Situated in the centre of the town, this interesting old house has been well restored with a very recorded story of life here almost 2 centuries ago. The only downside is the stairs which will be a major problem if you suffer from any mobility problems. Nonetheless it is well worth a visit

You enter to a house where an absolute multi-talent family (without educational background as they were chimney cleaners and during working they found some amazing furniture and other art items) had lived and collected all these wonderful pieces from all around the world (France, Austria, etc.) in that time when transport wasn't exactly just to call a Taxi or Uber :) This exhibition really took us out from our technology focused world and brought back to appreciate a nice room with amazing surroundings.

The museum visit was really great, it gives some good reviews of what happened in Hungary but we were missing the part where the origins of Sopron is explained from the very beginning.

The interior of the Storno house is nice but often overloaded to the point where it becomes tasteless. Some of the rooms were furnished with the purpose of showing off to guests; if this is really how they looked originally, the result is more like a mismatched combination of expensive furniture.

The owner of this house was Ferenc Storno, originally a chimney-sweeper, he lived in the 19th century. He loved art and became a significant restorer. You can admire his collection of art in this museum. You can admire his art works and see the way of life of the family in the late 19th century.
